Happy New Year!”

Mike, the only thing I hear at midnight on New Year's Eve is the snoring in my head. Being in the retail business, January 1st is a work-day so that means 10pm bed for me tonight. I just hope the idiots in my neighborhood do not shoot of fireworks again this year. One downside of living in the South. Yeeehah - I think not. Dudes, July 4th is seven months away. Go to bed! ;)

Should auld acquaintence be forgot... ?
Hell, I don't know. A lifelong friend passed away yesterday and I'm going to be travelling on New Years to get to the memorial service. Sigh.
Heck, Fr. Mannis baptized me (and all the other Ryans) after he met my dad in the hospital and struck up a friendship, based on my Dad;s broken leg and having gone to Notre Dame.
He's been part of the family ever since, and I am going to miss him.
On the other hand, he's been really really sick for a few years now and finally he'es at peace.
So, I guess that's all right in the end.
Rest in Peace, Fr. Jim Mannis, CSC.
