The 500 Greatest Movies of All Time (!)
Wow. I've seen my share of top 100 movie lists in my day, but the top 500 "Greatest Movies of All Time"? Okay, THAT's ambitious... But the folks over at Empire Online did it, so if you've got way too much time on your hands and want to see what they came up with (and if your favorite movie made it...because, let's face it, if it's not on HERE, you probably ought to rethink that favorite movie...), dive in and see the spectacle for yourself.

This thing loads way too slow for me to sit through all of it - wish tey had just posted a list or something.
But with Crouching Tiger that low on the list, and Superman Returns (?!) there's probably no chance in hell Buckaroo Banzai Across the 5th Dimension made it. Nor Dr Syn Alias the Scarecrow (aka The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh). Nor any of the Nyoka flicks. Nor even The Adventures of Captain Marvel (aka Captain Marvel and the Return of the Scorpion).
Sheesh. Some list. :)

Transformers, #309?
Seriously?
Ahead of... well, ahead of about 200 other films?
Seriously?
I ge tthe impression from a lot of the comments that this was voted on by the public, or more accurately, Empire's readers. Most of the films are pretty good, but -Tranformers?
I mean, the Incredibles is only #400! Come on!
Sin City is #274? Ahead of Batman, Indy and the Last Crusade, the Gold Rush for cripes sake?
Sigh. I hope some of my favorite films show up soon, or I'm going to be very disappointed indeed.

Okay!
The Searchers! Goldfinger! Bridge on the River Kwai! The French Connection! Cyrano de Bergerac! Harvey!
My faith is restored. It kind of makes up for Transformers.
Seriously, I enjoyed the hell out the movie, but really - #309?!
